House of Trials-
At the beginning of the play Dona Ana,
Celia, and soon Dona Leonor have multiple pages of story telling for the use of
setting up some of the story and plot.
They use this to help set up the story and relationships amongst
majority of the characters because back then people went to listen to a play
rather than to watch a play. There are
many themes that present themselves throughout this play, one being the fact
that there are many love triangles in the play, well if you can call them love
triangles. It is really just a large
group of people who are all in love with not the right person. All of these misunderstandings lead to some
dramatic moments, causing characters to fight, hide, and manipulate the entire
situation. Another theme that was
present throughout the play was how much dramatic irony popped up, seeing as
the audience having the privilege to know everything that is going on, even
more than the characters on stage at some points.
